After a stint as an art teacher and then a thirty year career in museums, Mary Kay Shannon called it quits. She doesn’t consider herself retired, more as an “artist at play”.
Her love of bottles dates back to her childhood when she and her great-grandmother, an avid bottle collector, would sit in front of a wall of windows filled with bottles. They would talk for hours about the colors, shapes, and ages of the bottles. Years later on a weekend getaway, Mary Kay saw a hanging piece that had a bottle in it with other found objects. She knew then she wanted to play with that idea. The result turned out to be Bottle Garland Wind Chimes.
Bottle Garland Wind Chimes are created using glass bottles and beads to form a truly unique durable wind chime.
